I used to think I had to choose between

understanding people and understanding technology.

Before college, I found myself torn between pursuing journalism and computer science. I loved interviewing people and making sense of information, but I was equally drawn to building with technology. Turns out, I didn't have to choose between the two fields.

Journalism taught me to listen. Computer science taught me to solve problems. Product design became the place where they finally came together.
